Trailer Time! The Mummy (2017)

After the teaser trailer released last Thursday, the full trailer of The Mummy is now here! Will Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) be able to stop Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella)? And overall, what is Henry Jekyll’s (Russell Crowe) job? Let’s find it out next June.

Quick Tips: Devil’s Knot (2013)

Presented at 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, Devil’s Knot, directed by Atom Egoyan, recalls the shocking, violent murders of three kids and the following trail against the so-called “West Memphis Three”. Colin Firth is Ron Lax, the private investigator who, doubting the Three’s guilt, will try to discover the truth; Reese Witherspoon is Pamela Hobbs, mother of one of the victims.

Although some director’s choices (like showing the characters’ dreams) make the plot even more complicated, Devil’s Knot is a good movie, captivating and touching, making the audience questioning about the “in”-credibility of the whole story. Shaming the lack of advertisment for its broadcast on Italia’s channel Rai 4 – I discovered it by chance.

Universal Monsters are back

The Mummy – coming out next 2017 – is the movie that has the demanding job of (re)creating a new, shared universe of Universal Monsters. It’s also a reboot of Stephen Sommers’ The Mummy (1999), that was one of my favourite movies of my childhood – even though the first I watched it, it scared me so much to walk around holding my cat for few days.

Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service; Star Trek: Beyondwill play the role of the terrifying creature, joined by Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis (The Tudors, Peaky Blinders) and Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll (!). However, it seems that the Dracula played by Luke Evans for Dracula Untold (2014) isn’t taking part in this movie – will he join them in the future?

Here the first trailer tease fot The Mummy; the full trailer will be showed next Sunday.
